Going on a Lovina Dolphin Tour is a magical experience that should be on everyone's North Bali itinerary. However, waking up at 5:00 AM and spending a couple of hours sitting on a traditional outrigger boat (jukung) out on the open sea can leave your muscles feeling a bit stiff and tired. If you are looking for the absolute best way to recover your energy after watching the dolphins, the answer is soaking in the soothing waters of Banjar Hot Springs (Air Panas Banjar).

Located just a short 20 to 30-minute drive from central Lovina Beach, these natural hot springs are a favorite relaxation destination. Here is your comprehensive and in-depth guide to visiting Banjar Hot Springs in 2026.

The History and Healing Properties of the Sulfuric Water

Banjar Hot Springs, also known by the locals as the Holy Hot Springs, has been around for hundreds of years. The natural spring water gushes from deep within the earth at a comfortably warm temperature of around 37 to 38 degrees Celsius. What makes this place truly special is the sulfur content in the water, which sits at approximately 26%.

This distinct yellowish-green water doesn't just offer incredible relaxation; it is deeply believed by the Balinese people and visitors alike to possess therapeutic healing properties. Soaking in these sulfur-rich waters is known to help alleviate various skin conditions, improve blood circulation, and soothe muscle aches and rheumatism—making it the perfect remedy after a long boat ride.

Spoiling Facilities and Pool Areas

The Banjar Hot Springs complex is beautifully nestled within a lush, beautifully landscaped tropical garden, providing a serene atmosphere that connects you with nature. The architecture features strong traditional Balinese touches, most notably the water spouts intricately carved to resemble mythical dragons (makara). The complex boasts three main pool areas for you to enjoy:

The Upper Pool: This is the first pool you will encounter. It is the shallowest and has the warmest water temperature, as it is closest to the natural spring source. It is perfect for a quick warm-up soak or if you are traveling with small children.
The Main (Middle) Pool: This is the largest pool in the complex. The depth varies between 1 to 2 meters, making it an ideal spot for a slow, gentle swim or just floating peacefully while breathing in the fresh North Bali air.
The Spout (Lower) Pool: The undisputed favorite among visitors! This area features several water spouts dropping from a height of about 3 meters. Standing directly underneath these heavy streams provides an exceptional, natural water massage that works wonders on tense backs, necks, and shoulders.

2026 Entrance Fees and Opening Hours

Despite its well-maintained facilities and international appeal, the entrance fees to Banjar Hot Springs remain incredibly affordable because it is managed directly by the local traditional village. Here are the latest details:

Adult Ticket: IDR 20,000 per person
Child Ticket: IDR 10,000 per person
Locker Rental: IDR 10,000 (highly recommended to secure your wallet, phone, and other valuables).
Other Facilities: Restrooms, changing/showering rooms, a restaurant, and a row of souvenir shops are available on-site.
Opening Hours: Open daily from 08:30 AM to 05:30 PM.

Top Tips for Visiting After Your Dolphin Tour

To ensure your visit to Banjar Hot Springs is as comfortable as possible right after your dolphin adventure, keep these essential tips in mind:

Wear Dark Swimwear: The high sulfur content can leave permanent yellowish stains on white or light-colored fabrics. It is highly advised to wear a dark-colored swimsuit or casual clothes you don't mind getting stained.
Time Your Breakfast: Since dolphin tours typically wrap up around 8:00 AM, you have the perfect window to grab a quick breakfast around Lovina. You can arrive at the hot springs right when they open at 8:30 AM, avoiding the larger afternoon crowds.
Bring Your Own Toiletries: Bring your own towel, soap, and shampoo from your hotel. Although there are small stalls selling these items, using your personal gear is much more comfortable and hygienic.
Stop by Brahma Vihara Arama: Just a 5-minute drive from the hot springs lies the largest Buddhist temple in Bali, often referred to as a miniature Borobudur. It is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful, making it the perfect final stop before heading back to your hotel.
